Sleeping babes
We don't have the babies in the bed all night...just when its too early to get up and be awake! I would never sleep if there was one in the bed with us. Lars' snoring is enough to deal with!

the hearse
I was rocking Silas earlier this afternoon and I had a flashback to a situation about 5 years ago. I was living in Romania working with Heart to Heart International Ministries. We were driving from our town to a neighboring town where we worked when we got stopped by a funeral procession. This wasn't a hearse and a line of cars with their lights on. This was a horse and wagon with the casket in the back and mourners walking on foot behind the wagon. For some reason, my roommate and I were trying to think of the words to this one song that we sang at Muncie Alliance. (we went to college together, to the same church and then ended up living in the same apartment working together in Romania for a year--i miss her) Anyhow, the song goes something like this:
On a hill, 2000 years ago

he's always (THis is the part we couldn't remember)

The part that's in red was the part that was really striking a chord with me. I was feeling like the world is against me...or at least some elements are against me! The weather is getting to me. I need some sunshine and warmth of springtime. Maybe i should go tanning so I can pretend I am lying on a beach somewhere!
Anyhow, it gets hard being inside with 2 little ones while it snows and blows outside. The older is bored and wants me to play all day and find things for him to do. The younger one has something with his stomach that I just can't figure out which causes him to cry. It seems that there isn't much to look forward to. Another day, another week....bla bla bla. I hate living that way.....
Then the funeral procession appeared in my mind and Jody and me debating what the words really were to the song. I then remembered, HE is something to look forward to. He has the strength for me to be creative with my kids, or be up in the night to feed Silas one more time,to enjoy the process of life right now. Oh yeah....I remember now.

crescent rolls
i was just wondering if i am the only one who flinches terribly when peeling back the wrapping of a refrigerated dough package. I actually feel like it is going to assault me at any moment in time. My eyes flutter crazily and I can feel the grimace on my face and my body tighten up. It is the same when I have to pop a balloon! I am a dork...but now I am a dork with warm crescent rolls

Heat wave?--it waved goodbye :(
Ok the last 2 days around here seemed like we were having a heat wave. Or at least a heat wave for Indiana in February. Last year at this time we had a blizzard if I remember correctly!
After Luca got up from not taking his afternoon nap he suggested we go for a walk which we all agreed was a great idea. Here are some pictures of the us taking Silas on his first of many, many Kristiansen family walks.

I am a stay at home wife and mom with 2 wonderful little boys. Luca was 2 in August and Silas was born in January. I am married to the most wonderful Danish man who has an incredibly creative mind that challenges my 'in the box thinking' practically daily! As a family, we know that we are called to something more than work to eat and live for weekends. (although I do love good food and quality time) This site is about what is going on in our lives, preparing for moving overseas to Europe, and all the bumps and triumphs along the way.
